My World

At “Time Goes By” there is a special section for people to show photos of where they blog. I can’t summon up the courage to put these pics there where so many people can see them. I like looking at the submissions and photos of other bloggers' surroundings, families, and pets, but I’m a bit intimidated by the neatness of the computer areas. My computer room is always a mess, but it’s my favorite area of the house. I have my computer, a few books, a small TV and DVD player, and my needlework close at hand. The only discordant note, if I ignore the clutter, is the dreaded treadmill that sits there reminding me of its neglect with its thick coating of dust.
I have been posting since late 2004, and I've decided to share a bit more of our lives. I hope to post more pictures than usual. This is My World. Welcome To It!

A Bargain at Any Price

When I first noticed this sign in our little town, my first thought was, "Cool! When I'm stuck for blog material, I can come in here a purchase a few ideas along with any sand or gravel I may need."

I now have new glasses.

Happiness is. . .

Happiness is a new pair of pink sandals even though I paid $35 for a wisp of fabric and a bit of vinyl.

Bliss is getting another pair of $35 sandals for $.88.

When Pigs, or Chickens, Fly

According to our local newspaper in an item a couple of weeks ago, an employee of Wal-Mart allegedly caused a bit of damage after managers at the store terminated her employment. It seems she then returned to the deli department (presumably her work station) and threw 2 chickens at 2 customers. She then threw 2 printers worth about $1,000 each to the floor, and two sets of dishes worth about $400 a set were destroyed.

Moral to the story: Watch out for flying chicken, printers, and dishes while shopping at Wal-Mart. Also, I will think twice about asking for assistance from their associates.

Around the Bases

Spring is here so we have been spending a lot of time watching baseball. The only day we missed last week was Wednesday. These pics were made Saturday morning at Cole's tournament. It was cold and rained throughout the first game. All the spectators were wrapped in blankets under umbrellas. Cole's team won the first place trophy. We are so proud of him.
