“I didn’t forget!” I said to Mr. Fixit when I went downstairs this morning. He had a blank look on his face. “Our anniversary is today, and I remembered!”
“Oh yeah,” he said. “For the first time in 40 years, you remembered and I forgot.”
“Uh, it’s our 42nd anniversary,” I replied.
“What would like as a present?” he asked.
“I don’t know. I really can’t think of anything.”
“I know!” he gushed. “I’ll get you a new radio for your car with a CD player. (The radio now has only a cassette player. I use a portable CD player plugged into the cigarette lighter.) I can use it on my trip to Memphis next month.”
He’s so thoughtful and romantic. It not surprising we’ve been married 42 years.
Maybe I’ll get him a new pair of shoes. . .in my size.
